Dr. Erika Morrow M.S., O.D. has a passion for your eye health! Upon entering her brand-new boutique downtown, you will see that this is not your average eye wear store. ForSight is a family-run optical center, and that gives them the opportunity to provide uniquely personalized care. Eye care is about more than just glasses and contacts—it’s about caring for your SIGHT, and that’s a privilege they don’t take lightly.
Dr. Morrow is a medically trained and licensed optometrist that specializes in primary eye care with an emphasis on specialty contact lenses and management of diseases of the cornea (front surface of the eye). At ForSight they are equipped with the latest technology to examine the health of your eyes entirely. Dr. Morrow diagnoses, treats, and manages all eye conditions including dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and eye conditions that result from having diabetes. Even if your vision is perfect, it is important to have the health of your eyes checked, regularly. One of Dr. Morrow’s favorite exams is a FIRST eye exam – she gets excited to educate the patient on their vision and the health of their eyes and when they have never had a thorough eye exam, it makes that part even more fun!
Dr. Morrow examines and treats patients of all ages. She is a provider for a public health program called InfantSEE designed to ensure that eye health and vision care for infants 6 months – 1 year is completed as part of their wellness checks. Conversely, the eldest patient she has routinely cared for was 101 years old. Dr. Morrow truly loves what she does and is enjoying taking care of the eyes of Savannah!
When the time comes for new glasses or sunglasses, ForSight has Savannah’s best selection of beautiful, high-quality frames from independent brands. The styles are hand picked from independent frame companies, just like ForSight. There’s just one constant–every frame they stock is hand-picked, by Dr. Morrow and her staff, with you in mind. Stop in and see for yourself; you are bound to find the perfect pair!
Dr. Morrow started her career in the eye industry in 2002 when she became a technician for an eye surgeon. She began fitting specialty contact lenses as the surgeon did not provide contact lens services, which sparked her passion and led her to pursue a doctorate in optometry. She worked for the same ophthalmologist in Denver, Colorado for 10 years before entering optometry school. She worked full-time while earning her Bachelors degree, which she completed in 4 years.
She attended the University of Colorado at Denver and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2012. She went on to pursue her Doctorate of Optometry and Masters of Vision Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she graduated with honors in 2016. While in optometry school, Dr. Morrow was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and was an officer for several student organizations. As a student, she completed an externship in ocular disease at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center and a primary eye care rotation at a private practice in Birmingham, Alabama. She was recognized as an outstanding clinician in Ocular Disease. Upon completing her training, she returned to Colorado and joined a group practice where she practiced until relocating to the coastal region of Georgia in 2017 for her husband’s career at Gulfstream.
The thing that sparked her interest in the eye care industry is that everyday she had the opportunity to make a positive impact on someone’s life by improving their sight, healing their painful red eye, or reassuring a patient about an eye condition, and that is AMAZING. Dr. Morrow frequently tells her patients that she has one job as their eye doctor, and that job is to make sure they have their sight until they are gone. There is not a day that goes by that she isn’t thankful for this wonderful profession and the impact she has as an optometrist.
She was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, is one of eight children, and has 17 nieces/nephews. Dr. Morrow has been happily married to her husband, Brian Morrow, since 2009, and they have two wonderful senior pups; a 13 year old basset hound and an 11 year old toy poodle, both were random rescues. The Morrows enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, & frequenting the local establishments of Savannah.
Dr. Morrow is looking forward to getting involved in the Savannah community and building lasting relationships with her patients.
ForSight offers early hours for the early birds, later hours for the end-of day ninjas, and an occasional Saturday for the weekend warriors. At your first eye exam, you should expect a thorough exam of the visual system and the inside of your eyes. Dr. Morrow utilizes a wide-field camera to exam and photo document the health of every patient’s eyes and you will get to see the inside of your own eyes – it is a huge hit and patients have raved about it!
Brian is the Business Manager for the practice. He is also a full-time operations engineer at Gulfstream and helps out in the optical on Fridays and Saturdays. Brian is also the reason ForSight exists and he is the mastermind behind their name and brand. He thought of ForSight, like Forsyth, as he and Erika were strolling the historic district.
