Custom Eye Glasses Savannah GA

Working with independent vendors known for their handcrafted products, we are able to offer eye wear that caters to YOU. Some of our collections are fashion forward, fun, & eclectic while others are classic & timeless. All of our brands are independent, just like us; therefore they will not be found in retail chains. Once you discover the quality of an independent handcrafted frame, you will have a new appreciation for comfort and fashion when it comes to your eye wear. Each frame is hand selected by the ForSight team with your SIGHT in mind. We will make sure you choose your eye wear wisely since they have to last, and they provide you with the most precious sense, your SIGHT. Let us help design your custom eye glasses.

In addition to supporting small businesses, most all of the independent frame line companies we support give back in their own unique way. Each line has a unique story and a unique contribution to our community and beyond.

We are excited to carry all of the brands below:

In-Office Edging

At ForSight we strive to provide top-notch quality, always. We have invested in technology to ensure a patient’s lenses are cut or edged perfectly in the frame they select. We edge all of our lenses in-house to ensure quality is its best, every time. Having in-house edging also allows us to get glasses on the patient as quickly as possible. In most cases, we can have single vision glasses made within 24-28 hours. Oftentimes we can provide you same day service, depending on your prescription.

Lens Materials

CR-39

Basic plastic provides a thick lens with good optical properties but limited impact resistance. We do not recommend this material for safety reasons.

Polycarbonate

Thinner and lighter but with poorer clarity than CR-39. Superior impact resistance makes this a great choice for safety eyewear.

Trivex

Lightweight with superior impact resistance properties and better optical qualities than poly. This is the lens of choice within our optical for daily wear lenses.

High Index

Thinner and lighter materials that allow us to thin out higher prescriptions. Recommended for higher prescription to give lenses a more appealing look and increase comfort by decreasing lens weight.

Lens Designs

Single Vision

Standard lenses for the correction of myopia, hypermetropia, and presbyopia.

Anti-Fatigue

Single vision lenses with aspheric designs which allow the eyes to relax when doing long periods of near work leading to less eye strain. Many have blue light protection properties included in the design.

Bifocal Sunglasses

Lens designs with two fixed focal lengths, often used for seeing distance and near. This lens does not account for the mid-length viewing such as computers.

Progressive

Lenses which progressively change from distance to near as you look from the top to the bottom of the lens. These allow the greatest visual freedom and provide you vision at all distances.

Blue Light Protection

We know the largest source of blue light is the sun and we know the sun is harmful for our eyes; leading to early cataract development, pinguecula, pterygium, and macular degeneration. Although the benefits of blue light protection are up for debate, there is no question that a majority of patients that purchase a quality blue light lens technology, state they notice a considerable decrease in eyestrain and headaches from long periods of computer work.

At ForSight, we firmly believe in being proactive versus reactive and if we know blue light is harmful, why not block the harmful spectrum. Not all blue light lens technology is equal and they should cut down on reflective glare, not add to it.

Lens Treatments

Anti-Reflective & Anti-Glare

Multilayer treatment protecting against glare, scratches, and smudges. Anti-Reflective makes your eyes more visible to others while stopping unwanted reflections so you have the clearest image out of your eyewear. Most come with 1-2 year no questions asked scratch warranties and protect against harmful UV rays. PLEASE, never buy glasses without a high-quality anti-reflective property.

Polarization

Limits the angle of reflections able to pass through your lenses, reducing glare, and making your eyes more comfortable during activities. Great for fishing, golfing, or any other outdoor activity requiring crisp, clear vision.

Transition Lenses

This technology darkens when exposed to UV light. Great for those who frequently go from indoors to outdoors and do not want to carry a second pair of sunglasses. One of the added benefits of the Transition products is the increased UV & blue light protection that is a built in to the lens technology. Transition 8 was just released to the market as well as mirror flash coatings so there are endless options to make your eye wear unique while protecting your eyes to the fullest.

FAQs

It is our mission to provide only the best, for the best. While online shopping is loved by all of us at ForSight, we do not support purchasing eye glasses online. We employ people of the community and we want to continue to do so. With that said, online retailers keep prices down by eliminating many costs of doing business, mainly they do not need trained and licensed employees. In the case of custom eye glasses, online vendors are relying on eye doctors to pay their employees to do the work for the online retailer, who pay nothing for the skilled labor of our licensed opticians. With that said, we do not provide the essential measurements necessary to buy glasses online and we do not evaluate glasses purchased outside of our office. There is nothing more uplifting than supporting local, let us earn your business. #4theloveofeyes
